texture not showing up

hi, i put a basic texture on a nurbs surface and it doesn't show up on the stage when i'm working even when i press 6, but it does show up when i render. any idea how i can fix this so i can see it while working? i'm using 6.0.1 on OSX. thanks

try using the 6-key with both num lock and with out num lock......thats all i can suggest
