How to get pointpositions for all vertices in a model

Hi all...please help me..i'm new to maya. Can anybody help me to find all pointpositions for all vertices in a mmodel? I only know how to find pointposition only for a vertex.. e.g pointposition objectname.vtx(3) ... for 3rd vertex.
