Was workin on my new jeep animation, and i wanted to take a brake so I modeled a Lego replica. Just for fun, i wasn't trying to do an exact replica or anything. What do you think?

hah you must of had the ol lego set out for this one. i remember the pieces you used for the roof rack and wipers particularly. good stuff.

well... I think I have moved from GI joe to MR. I know... it surprised me to... But take a look at this, with a 30 sec render time, nice clean, and it has reflections!! Still needs alot of work.. but I am workin on it. what do you think?
Brian

BTW sorry, the compression sucks right out of Maya.... anyone know how to chage the quality of Maya's Jpg compression?
Thanks again

BabyDuck 28-05-2003 06:12 PM

i dont think you can. great 2nd render :)

the way if you want hich quality is to save as tiff and then open in photoshop and save for web ;)

brian_ellebracht 28-05-2003 06:19 PM

i agree. that is what I used to do, but then I just had my computer rebuilt, when I got Maya 5, and I don't have photoshop reinstalled yet... So... I think I will post my next two renders on my site and just link to the images, because, this looks pretty bad as Jpg, I will ad two more images in a few min, they look much better!

how do you make all your stuff that realistic?
it cant be only mr

brian_ellebracht 28-05-2003 06:32 PM

that was my first Mr test... here were my next to MR test... i used to allways use GI_Joe, that is untill about an hour ago. lol.
Brian

Because I don't have anyway right now to recompress it and still have good quality, there pretty big, you would probably want to do a right click save target as. Thanks!

Hey Brian,
How do you model that lego? Is it polygon Discplacement or something.

brian_ellebracht 28-05-2003 07:08 PM

its all polys... If you have corel, I can attach a file (like a cad file) that you can create your own Plan/elevation views of the pieces that you want to model, and its a piece of cake... but if you aren't familiar with the program (or Cad), its a little hard to draw your own first...
