File > optimize in Maya

Hi Guys,

I'm currently working my way through the Spitfire Tutorial. The modelling is now complete and I noticed the file size was around 14MBs which seemed a bit large. I've been deleting history as I go, but when I ran the Optimize Scene the file was reduced to around 2.5MBs

What would it have deleted to reduce the file so much?

Cheers
Paul

unused, shaders, nodes, etc.

Open the optimize scene options to see a checklist of everything it looked for.

Thanks Guys,

I just found is strange that there was so much fat in my Scene!

Is this the preferred way to clean up the scene and file size when modelling is complete?

Cheers
Paul
