Rubiks Cube question
Hello.
This may be a no brainer for most. I've been out of the loop with Maya for about 2 years and I'm refreshing my skills and have run into a challenge. I'm animating a rubiks cube and all is well as far as rotating faces. My question is when I want to rotate a face to a specific value i.e. 180 degrees, I will go into the "transform attributes" section and key in "180" for the "Y" axis. I notice that the only part of that face that rotates to 180 is just 1 of the 9 cubes! Why will not all 9 rotate to that value? I'm most likely overlooking something very simple but don't see what that is. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |
you will need to group the faces and rotate the group, but thinking about it this might not work since each face would have to be a member of at least two groups to simulate a Rubics cube movement.
scripting would be the way to go ... heres a solution ;) http://area.autodesk.com/tutorials/rubiks_cube_rigging and animation http://area.autodesk.com/tutorials/r...cube_animating |
