Need help with homework
 

I have a homework assignment which requires me to ask people a poll question and get their responses. So, here's the question: Why do people desire to save others whom they do not know?

Perhaps they were once in a similar situation, and were saved themselves. Compassion for strangers is a very powerfull feeling. It may compell a person to risk thier life, even for a stranger.

i beleive its an altruistic trait all humans are born with.

The weight of middle class guilt.

They want to feel heroic.

they're on drugs?

seriously though, unless you're twisted, doing something nice for others ought to make you feel good yourself, so everybody wins :)
