mapping a light probe image to a sphere?

Hi,

managed to get it roughly on just by planat mapping it, tough this results in some pretty bad stretching around the widest point of the sphere.

Apart from selecting and scaling the edge rings is there a more efficient way of getting this mapped correctly?

cheers

If this is only to be used as a light source then mapping it to be perfect wouldn't be that important, but use a Sphere Mapping instead and use the manipulator tools to get it in place. Some people miss it, but theres a little red crossroads (best way I can think to describe it), click it and you can then use the rotate scale and move tools to position it correctly.

Hope this helps...
