mental ray area light, please help
 

Here a test of area lights and just wondering about it! Please help and I don't know why?

1pic. just area light and shadow limit with softer.(floor default lambert)

2pic. same area light, but the floor change default lambert to mia_material and the area light limit very hard.

That is weird, I tired recreating it and mine looked fine, if you make a new scene does it still happen?

Really thanks alot GT :beer: and upload on my system's test. I think the area light still not well but we can use other way to expression.

Yeah you're probably better off using the spotlight lol :)
