Two modeling questions...
Hello, I'm a Lightwave user learning Maya and I appreciate the help.
I have two how-to questions. 1.) When you're selecting faces on a poly object, how do you make it so you you don't select any faces on the other side of the object? 2.) I created a curve that I want to lathe(lightwave lingo) around the Y axis 360 degrees. How would I do this? Thanks |
1. I'm a newb... so i don't know the answer to this question (anymore) ... I thought it was something as "Ignore Backface Culling" (????)
2. This question I know: Under Modelling Menu : Surfaces > Revolve (option box (square box behind the name)) |
Thank you genius995, you are a genius.

backface culling.
Go into revolve options and select axis to rotate on. (Oops too slow :) ) |
I have another one for you all.
I'm trying to create a simple cartoon eye ball with a black circle on a white background image that will be applied to the Sphere object. The Sphere has a Blinn material with a glow to it. I want to apply the image and keep the glow. I know how to do this in Lightwave, but I don't even know how to apply an image to a surface in Maya. Oh yeah, also .... anyone know how to create an underwater type of atmosphere? |
Use a ramp shader and load a texture in the ramp colors.
