How would you approach a shattering glass effect?

Hi all,

Long time no talk, as you might be aware I'm now living in
Vancouver, BC. Where I'm studying at Capilano College, for
Digital Animation for Character design. I'm working on a side
project where I need to make a bullet pass through a number
of glass characters (text) and shatter upon impact as it passes
through.

Now I was wondering whast the best way to approach this is? Any ideas.

Look up Shatter in Maya help. Maya has a Dynamic effect for just that.
Effect > Shatter Good Luck

BobV - Thank you for the information, I'll give it a good read. I wasn't aware that maya already had a shatter effect thats sweet.

Dark-Link - Pretty cool you live so close, how did you find BCIT did you get a job easily after? From what I'm hearing Cap is a pretty decent school, the course is very high end..... although I hear Vancouver Film School to be a pretty amazing course as well.

nah i haven't found a job yet out of BCIT. i'm still practicing and getting better... VFS is probably the best school in regards to digital animation.
