Particle Problem
I have a particle trail in my scene. I'm using cloud particles, and have linked up colour, opacity and incandescence to ramps, so they change over time. When I render them, at the end of the trail are bright white particles. How can I get rid of them?
Thanks |
Try adding a lifetime to the particles so they "die" as they fade

I've played around a bit, but I can't seem to fix it. I've got a lifespan of 3.5 and the particles fade away like they should, but a few - 4 or 5 suddenly flash solid white. I've got a glow on the particle cloud - could that have anything to do with it?
No - I've mucked around with that as well - makes no difference. I could post a rendered image if that would help - if you could tell me how. Thanks for your help |
add a... i'm not at Maya now... but I think it is decayPP, and add some threshhold to it, 1 second I think should be enough.
sorry, I'm no dynamics junky, more of a rendering one, but still I think that's how it do. |
How do I do that?

Oh no it's alright - I've fixed it - I just increased the lifespan of all the particles so that is is longer than the scene (I noticed that the particles only malfunction on the last frame of their life) and adjusted all the ramps to make up for it.
Thanks for your help. |
