To Quote on a new job.

Hi all,
I have just got in evolved with a new animation job at my company but as this is kind of a new thing for us to do, I'm finding hard to quote on times and to stick to them. As you all know Maya can through up some problems and there's always a challenge on the way. But how do you incorporate this into your quote, as you really have no idea what problems can arise.
Many thanks

nothing that I know of to do. You just have to figure in some extra time above what you think you can do to take care of the learning curve and problems. say 30%.

I always pad in about 20-30% extra time/cost to accommodate unexpected things like hardware/software issues, mental/creativity blocks, and a little thing called life. Just don't tell your client about it. Give them the quote and that's it. :)

cheers guys the problem I have is that there is a set budget and that is divided between programers and page layout /design and animation's, so I have a set time and have to get it all done within. I said its impossible within the time allocated, but My bosses reply is we have no choice...Great! thats gonna solve it.. anyway gotta get on with it...
