Can't delete unwanted vertexes
Hi,
during modeling I've created two, overlapping vertices on top of one another. When I try to delete them, I get the following message in the command preview: // Warning: Some selected vertices have complex edge attachment; Delete Edge/Vertex removes selected vertices and related edges // But, they do not delete; I've also tried to delete them by right clicking in the channel box, but they stay. Anyone able to help? thanks, g |
Post a wireframe showing that area of your model with the vertices selected. That will help us determine the problem easier and give you a good answer.

DO a cleanup operation on the geometry. If you are not getting to delete some of the veryts it usually indicates a problem with the edgeds connectiong.
I suggest going in and removeing the faces on either sdie of the geometry, but it does sound like you have kinda opened a can of worms. |
You can just do a Print Screen if you want. No need to render.

You might also have a normal in the wrong direction so id give it a go checking the normals. As Chris said it can be a pain to get it sorted. Sometimes the script editor makes its own scripts that help you out, you might need to open the script editor to see the full text. |
Thanks for the responses folks - I tried working with the edges round about the points and have managed to get rid of them.
I think I'd misused the split polygon tool and created some bad geometry. I'm having some more issues though, and I've got a new thread called "Co-ordinates in Maya issue". If you could help there it would be great. cheers, g. |
