Black spots on my model

1 Attachment(s)
Hi all,

I've noticed this before. I have carried out an action on my model (extracted the arm in this case) and straight after my man develops black spots.

All the normals point in the correct way. I've tried hardening the normals then softening them. I've tried assigning a new material.

The geometry is ok - is this a known bug or what? Can I fix it?

thanks,

gubar

Well is it black when you render or in the viewports?

edit:Ah now I see your picture :)

It looks like it has been drawn on it or something, you havent painted on it have you? :)

Its hard for me to see but is it black or can you just see through it?

Black in viewports and render.

Nah, no painting going on. They are opaque black patches.

I'm improving it just now - seems like when I extruded, some of my vertex normals went weird (though the face ones remained fine - strange).

cheers,

gubar.

Try setting your normals to face, or smoothing them
