sourcing maya scripts
i have recently created some mel scripts and i want these scripts to be activated every time i open my maya software. i learned how to source scripts but even if i source them maya doesn't read them the next time around after i reopen the program.
i think i have to save the MEL file in a spacific location but idon't know where. Can someone who knows about MEL scripting help me out PLEEZ!!!!!!!!!!!! OH and could someone tell me a website where i could learn more about MEL scripting and the whole maya interface. OR MAYBE someone could tell me the name of a book where i could learn more about this. thanks my PPL. peace out>. C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\My Documents\Maya\Scripts
In there you might have a userSetup.mel file. If it is not there create one. THen just type in the name of the script you use to activate the script. |
so your saying to just create an MEL file that is called userSetup.mel and do what with it.
do i type the command to source the script in there.. give me an example of what should i type inside of the file userSetup.mel. i tried what i think u told me to do but when i opened maya it didn't work still. or maybe it is just the MEL COMMAND i wrote. |
well im not sure if it was just the script using it. I dont think its an actual maya file.
