Storyboard with Maya
 

Hello at all!!!:attn:
I did this storyboard for school...
We got a text and our task was to visualize the information of it.
Do you understand the story???
my only problem is that I didn´t know how to change the optik from "Andy" and because that its little hard to understand the story because there must be different persons... not only copys of them.
That means that you have to think who who is!!

I don't understand the story exactly, did they make some sort of pact or something? It seems like one was supposed to jump in front of that train but chickened out while the one in jail actually went through and hung herself.

i didnt really get it, so one got a free jail pass, the other one stuck in jail, figured hey why not hang my self for no apparent reason.

I think there is need of more signs of what is happening.

I must say that having a railroad next to a jailhouse is very handy.

the story is that he is now free and have step into his new life!
but he can´t because he don´t know what to do now.
He things about his time and then he gets the order to take the train into his new life.
He stands at the station and the train arrives.
he gets nervos and then the moment of decision is there.
will he make the step into his new life?!?
he sits in the train and sees through the window his old home.
when he steps into his new home than he feels that he cant handle that situation. he hangs up himself...

not easy to understand because I had only one human mesh and I don´t now what to do with the andy Rig!!!??!!!

Do you know how to switch between the male and female Andy rig Thanks alot for crits!!!:beer:

Here is what i would do.

shot one: him sitting in his cell
2: gates open
3: they go thru a pathway in the building
4: go outside
5: they do something there
6: officer calls the guy
7: guy stands infront of the jail director.
8: director stamps his papers for approvel
9: guy leaves the big gates
10: guy steps towards the station
11: sees the train coming
12: guy steps left and right
12: looking behind him.
13: swipes his sweat off his for head
14: moves his hand over his mouth like he is nervouse
15: train is closer
16: he turns around and takes 3 steps back to the big gate
17: he turns back to the train
18: he waits while the doors of the train opens
19: he dosent go inside
20: noise stating closing door
21: he looks one more time backwards
22; then jumps in just before the doors close

Now this is something better to use in my opinion, while i just spent 1 minute typing this down from idea to post.
So take this and break it up and compile it better.

i think this should ignite something in your brain.

have fun.

btw give the jail guys a stripe texture, that would be cool. gives it a jail house feel to it.
All controls on andy should be on the main controls, just check the attributes

BECAUSE...
I had that text wich began when the man stands at the wall and is thinking about his life in the jail. He think about his friends there. and then he stands outside the jail and has to master his new life.
We made it for Film analysing in this lesson and to understand a text and to try to make the story real(visualizing)! That was our task!
It was not our task to cook up a story!
I hadn´t much time and had to make a few pics which tells the story!
I believe that when I had difficult people that everyone had understand that hole thing...

I think you really need to convay camera movements as well as some quick one line notes in the storyboard, otherwise it ends up looking stale and with no direction, sort of like what youve got, not sounding too harsh, as looking at it I dont know what your convaying/aiming at with the story.

Hence whats the point of making a storyborad if you dont bring the story over as at the moment it dosent make much sense.

Yes, you are right!
I make it new with all the crits I got concerning my first Storyboard!:p
It is really not easy to tell somebody a emotional Story which is more difficult than a Story which tells only an act happenings!!!

Good art, but I think your characters could use some more detailed emotions. And add captions because they are used for storyboards 2d or 3d.

a video of a song/story which might help describe/capture some of the emotions that might be involved or that you might want to communicate. Also a pretty damn good song:P
