Hi James,

it is looking very good and nice... really WoW... :)

regarding Hair... caligraphics has one metod on his site... "Creating a head with Hair in Maya"... -->
http://www.caligraphics.dk/Maya/hair/hair.htm

other places... "Creating hair with PaintFX"... -->
http://www.creativecow.net/articles/...air/index.html

"Using Softbodies and PaintFX to create dynamic hair in Maya 3"... -->
http://www.gmask.com/tutorials/hairtut/hairtut.shtml

"PaintFX Hair"... -->
http://www.highend3d.com/maya/tutorials/pfxhair/

"paintFX the ultimate hair designer"... -->

"HOW TO CREATE LONG HAIR WITH MAYA PAINT EFFECTS AND MAYA CLOTH"... -->

I believe this site also use Maya to do it... but I'm not sure... "Hair for 3D Characters"... (they mention Maya)... -->

Paint effect is a best choice, especially for longhair style.
Fur looks more realistic, but just fit into shorthair style.
And also u can use the traditional method, model them and texture them.
The links strarup gave u have covered all method I say above. Just try it based on what u choose.

looking really good - i'd like to see a wireframe

the lips are nice and the chin

the nose could use a little work - it's a bit undefined around the nostril area and the wings of the nose (if that is what they're called... i suddenly can't remember...)

cheers :)
