Hi im a complete noobie to maya so i thought i would start out with something simple.i have started with the wheel so i can get use to the layout of maya itself before moving onto the rest of the camper.i am modelling from a model so it isnt perfect.anyway plz let me know how i could improve this starting point because i want this model to be really detailed.

yeah it will be a camper im modelling.the wheel is the stock wheel which came with the 1962 type 2 microbus apart from the chrome.

as i said before i am using a small 1/18 scale model to model from.

ive started on the rear hatches let me know what you think. i still got to model the handle for the top hatch. im not happy with it but i cant put my finger on why so C&C would be much appreciated.

I modelled a VW camper a little while back so I will be interested to see how it goes.

ive started on the chassis.

i needed a break from the body itself.just so i could get some perspective and plan my next move so i can decide how many windows and such.

its only a very rough version of the underneath.i will clean it up once i get my 1st camper in real life lol.

i will start the rear assembly seperate due to needing the gearbox and the sump of the engine.

let me know what u think.

Tim_LIVID 06-02-2006 11:42 AM

This is true (my mate use to have one). I would also make the VW sign a bit thicker.

spakooggie 06-02-2006 12:42 PM

i knew something was wrong thanks i will address that, i have about 30 pics which i have taken over the years of loving these things.i will post some up once i can work out how lol.
i should be getting a bay window type 2 in the next 2 weeks yay.

splittys are so expensive now.a okish one which needs a lot of work is bout 8,000 pounds lot of money so im settling for a bay.

im going to work through the vw camper range so my next project will be my bay window.

Tim_LIVID 06-02-2006 12:44 PM

Yer my mate had one, loved it to bits but he had to sell it cos it took too much to run ... then he got a pay rise. lol

Oh well, now he keeps on saying he's going to get another one. Bless
