Adjusting World Size

Is there a way to adjust the world size in maya? Instead of increasing the size of an object, to instead increase the overall world size?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I do not understand the question. The world is infinite.
If you mean increase the grid size, this can be done from the menu Display->Grid >Option box
