June Challenge - ereitz - normal

Hi! my life is going a little haywire so i guess i'll just spend more time in front of this screen here ;)
This is my quick concept of a Muk-skimmer - sort of an insect like swamp boat/helicopter like machine that can intake water from Extremely shallow surfaces to run it's water jets. It banks and slides when turning and has a humming droning sound that strikes fear into the hearts of mud fish everywhere. |
that will gonna be fun seeing in 3d and having the weird sound in the ear. EEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHH :D
|
it will be modeled in nurbs. I also think it will have some firepower and maybe more backstory. the tail is going to flex up and point forward so maybe that's where I'll put some sort of stinger like weapon - the idea is that it attacks like a skorpion over it's head.

Hey Kevin - thanks for asking - women trouble ;) girlfriend is German - i live in Canada - i want to go there - plenty of distractions here running around in summer time tank tops, plus:
contract coming up, trying to decide what to do, trying to get together some sort of demo that represents what I've learned taking part in a challenge is great - takes my mind off what I can't do much about right away anyway plus I come out with something to put on my reel and learn something as well i think i should think less - i think i have more fun that way - i think i might think too much - i think... whatever :) |

working with my concept there to give me a rough idea and then sort of free form sculpting a bit - 100 percent nurbs built :)

and here's a render - I plan to give it a worn, slightly rusted texture but right now it's all shiny and new

attached to the nose is the water scoop - the blades are razor sharp so that they can cut thru muck if the nose dips - if it goes too low computer sensors adjust to drop the tail
|
Great job. I need to learn how to use nurbs.

rebuilt the air scoop above the cockpit to give it a rounder look. the jet like thing on the tail is going to be replaced by a stinger weapon of some sort. I'm planning to make it a single pilot machine with one or two jumpseats. Also in the area behind the cockpit there is some space for tubing etc. Detailing like fuel valves etc. will be made.
Detailed the split where the cockpit opens forward for access. About it for tonight. :) |

wow, that is nice renders. could you please make them a bit lighter - it is a bit hard to see the shapes.
keep it up |
