missing menu...please help
 

Hi everyone !!! I'm kinda new to maya interface (not modeling).I have a problem I can not locate the edit mesh dropdown menu the one with extrude,smooth ect...
I think it is supposed to be with all the other dropdown menu like file,edit,display ect...but its not.If someone could help me set this up I would be very happy since I need this feature alot!
Anyway thanks to read and I hope to hear from you soon enough so I can jump rigth back in my modeling !!!

You need to select 'polygons' in the drop-down box in the upper left corner.
If you're still having problems post a screenshot of the menus...

all I needed to do was press F3

but the menu shortcut are from F2 to F8 or something
