Run cycle Animation- Finished work
Hello friends,
My first attempt on a run cycle. Please let me know your views on it. Thanks for watching Regards, Mahesh Run Cycle - I on Vimeo |
Thats pretty damn good mahesh!! well done mate...the only thing I can say (IMO) is the upper body seems to 'rigid' and he possibly (hard to tell) upper body should lean JUST a tad forward??
cheers bullet |
Hey, Thanks bullet for your comments. I too was not sure of the arc of the spline but then he being a super hero character thought that straight spline would look better.
Thanks anyway. Will Keep in mind ur suggestion in future. Mahesh |
Yeah, that's pretty darn good for a first go at a run animation, especially now that I know how hard it is to accomplish. Well done.

Thanks perfecto,
I am looking forward to your updates on character walk. Have you downloaded the rigs that i told you or should i send you the link? Mahesh |
I downloaded the Mike rig..I love the Monster's inc movie so I decided to go with it. I know it will still be challenging though, but not having to worry about two more limbs will be nice.
|
Great work!
My thoughts are.. the hips and lower torso seem to be very rigid I don't know.. the head bobs too far or too fast? you make the entire rig? and texture it and animate it? good job! |
Thanks ataraxy for watching and ur comments.
Will definitely give a try to your suggestions and find if changes to these body parts will make it look better. I downloaded this rig from creative crash. Its made by some Gary Wee. Thanks to him. I just animated and did the lighting and rendering part. Mahesh:) |
Where can I Download rigs ? Nice animation btw!

Hey, great video, i'm still mastering the art of a run cycle any tips or help you can give me :d please??
|
looked at it again and... when running. The body must balance itself. Therefore the feet. would be center of the body. not spread apart as they are.
check out Muybridge and those pics of running man. or watch runners on youtube. |
:):)Wow I like it. I'm A beginner so this is an inspiration to me tell me how you did it
Regards, Ann |
its a good cycle i would maybe add a little more squash/stretch as it looks a little stiff to me.
|
how did you translate it forward
