bump maps

hi, imagine

http://uk.geocities.com/cook_the_kids/dsadasdas.JPG

i want to make a bump map which would basically make millions of small circlular bumps, i know what it would look like, its just how to make it

(i cant be arsed to go through the long process of making millions of small cirlces all next to eachother in photoshop then going thru them all and shading them correctly).

in photoshop there is a stained glass filter, if i coiuld change the shape of the stained glass from squareish to more circular and then somehow put a spherical ramp into every circle then that would work.

ive looked at the leather shader in maya but theres loads of black gaps whcih i cant seem to get rid of, also i tried to applied a ramp onto the cell colour thinking it would put the ramp into each individual cell, but this didnt work, it just put the ramp on the whole thing.

hmmmm, any ideas?

Thanks, Matt

blur the stained glass to soften the edges up.

kinda ok, but is there no way to make more of a range in size of the circles? maybe someone knows of a way to mass produce circles at random sizes :p even with just circles i can blur it and layer the blues over and over untill its realy thick blur and then it will make a bump, just need more of a range in size of the circles and less formation between them, (on the stain glass they are just about all roughly the same size.)

thanks for the help anyway, it hink i may end up hand drawing these circles :s tedious work...
