hes just got complete models off turbo squid shoved some hdri/ mocap on then put it on a background plate.

yeah - didn't really do much for me - it just didn't seem that realistic - like the way the crack went across the pavement, taking no account of the tiles, or the explosions which just seemed flat and kind of slapped on.

Same here, I mean there not bad and a lot of work went in but they dont blow me away or anything.

well to a trained eye it just looks bleeeeeeh but to a noob like me it seems like alot of effort was put into this

Guys, Master Zap has been around a long long long time. I recall meeting him first years ago on the TFN Star Wars fan films site. Read some of his mentalray threads over at CGtalk and your head will explode.
