Complex, but well explained tutorials

Hey guys i want to learn some higher level tecnique because all the lower level stuff seems very easy to understand. The problem is i'm new to the program so i'm looking for specifically detailed Tutorials. Anyone know of any?

you wont get these in the maya standard renderer:

Final Gather
Global Illumination
(MR has better raytracing)

well, apart from these,, you can really create stunning effects with the renderer...

there are no good pics, but there is a site setup by AW,,, all of the CG work is rendered using the maya standard renderer

oops that was supposed to be in your rendering thread.. silly me.. me and my stoopid mutliple windows..
about this question:

why dont you goto boris3d.com/tutorials,, have loads of em here

i want to tell you one thing,, all the things you create are done with basic stuff,, imagine em like lego blocks,,, just plain blocks, but if you arrange em right,, they look fantasitc...

all the "high level" things will come to you automaticallly, just keep praticing the techniques... nurbs, curves, low poly, quad modelling,, etc

No good pics? my first time i got 7 outta 10. I was impressed.

Lol mike thankx. I can't wait to start paying for the simply tutorials! My friend whos making movies, is so excited about me and maya he is gonna pay for them for me!

Lol tar yah i was a bit confused but saves me time from going to that thread 2!

Boris3d=error404 did you type it correctly?(yes a put in the www)

And i understand about the basic building blocks and all that. The only program i had when i started 3d was BRYCE 3, 4. And they (any of the bryces i have 5 now) don't have ANY modeling in them. Just primitives that you can scale and rotate basically. But like (and only barely here, not a very detailed TUT) I learned how to do fillet blends (and still its only kinda they are sorta mysterious) and they really make a difference. But it takes me a good half hour to get one done. I'm just looking for tutorials to teach me stuff like that.

Hej Vectorman,

I'm not sure if it wasn't supposed to be 3dBuzz, because they have some video tutorials for Maya... the only thing i can relate to Boris3d is a tutorial collection...
http://www.boris3d.de/tutorials.html

at 3dBuzz you have to registre to be able to download, but it is free... after that there will appair a download link... -->
http://www.3dbuzz.com

but them video tutorials here at SimplyMaya that Mike is refering is great material... :)

Regards

Strarup
