Getting rid of old uv maps

Hi,

in the UV editor, say you have made a map of an object. You then want to re-do it. Once you enter the uv editor and select the object, the old and the new uv maps will be there. So, if you want to move and sew edges say, the old one gets knotted in with the new one.

Simple question - how do I get rid of the old uv map? I'm sure it must be easy but I don't see how.

thanks,

gubar.

NOt sure if this will work but, if youclip select one of the uv's of the old map, then go to 'select shell' in one of the uv texture editors menus (cant remmeber as have not got maya open!) and once all the old uvs are selected simply delete them. This should theoretically leave you with just the new uv set.

Hope this is of help!!

Chris

thanks for responding.

found another way to do it though, if anyone is interested. Select the object that has the map. Then, in its channel box, click on the projection associated with the map. Move your pointer back into the scene view, press F8 (to select component mode) then press delete.

thanks again for the reply,

gubar.
