Quick update: added the score marker things, and the the little slot where you put the ball in. Right now, Im kinda lost on how to do that. Should I extrude up/out, and shape it, or use curves/nurbs?

Element_Khaos 08-02-2004 06:56 PM

looks good. you gonna make the little guys? this could make a real cool animation too.

twisteddragon33 08-02-2004 09:47 PM

You could make a sphere and cut away 3/4 of it, then extrue a little to give it some depth.

dave_baer 08-02-2004 09:51 PM

Hard edges! Kill them! Other than that, looks ok. :D

twisteddragon33 08-02-2004 09:57 PM

i expect to see an animation out of this. Maybe you coudl do the riverdancing players from the deoderant commercials?

I-Iybrid 08-02-2004 10:03 PM

As for an animation, no idea yet. Alls I know is Im gonna animate it some how. Dave, the actual table I have (which is my reference) has the hard edges like that. I kinda like it actually. Dunno if Im gonna bevel them out yet. :)

Muhaha. Got my little ball-slot done. What I did was set the 'end sweep' of a NURBs sphere to 90. Converted to polys, dupicated/scaled for some thickness, and done. I think it looks rather good. Now I needa get on them players. :)

Ball scoup came out really well. But i think your goal needs to be bigger.

Psuedo Realizm 09-02-2004 12:38 AM

you may not have gotten this far yet, but dont forget to add sliders (for lack of a better name) for the outside part of the table, for the poles... it looks like there just attached to or sticking out of the table right now

I-Iybrid 09-02-2004 01:57 AM

Yea, I havent made the soldiers/players yet. Ive been puttin them off for last, cause I think theyd be the hardest. Something to do with the poles....Im not too sure what your talking about?

Update quickie. (heh, I said quickie....) Made the goals bigger. After I looked at it, they were abit small. Would make for a very tough game that way...:) Gonna add some detail to the frame now. In other words, I dont want to model/Cant figure out how to make the players. :p

Pony 09-02-2004 02:56 AM

The sliders that Psuedo Realizm was talking about are the mettel holes the controle bars go through the side of the table. As it looks now. the bars on the side with the handles kinda look like there just floting there, becouse there just sticking right in the side like they were gloed.

Its looking good though, and comeing along nice. I think it will be really nice when textured.

I-Iybrid 09-02-2004 03:54 AM

You know...after I stare at it for like, 10 minutes, I understand what you guys mean. How would I go about fixing it? Cause right now, there are holes in the side peices. Make the holes bigger maybe?

Pony 09-02-2004 04:00 AM

yeah maybe make them bigger. I don't know about your sean size but I would guess like 5 to 10% clearance from the size of the rods. maybe more.

You could put thoughs mettel hole guides around them to jaz it up. but your table might not have them. Some do, some don't I guess.

Any better guys? I think it is. :)

roach105 09-02-2004 08:23 PM

The hole for the poles made a huge difference. I have two things to pick on. One is the actual poles do not look like they are long enough, seems like if I was to play my men would not make it accross because the pole would end the stoppers are in the wrong place. The other is the height of the table. It may be perspective but it seems to short.

Keep up the good work!

Pony 10-02-2004 01:02 AM

the pole holes look better. LOL I think the table looking not long enufe is the perspective. maybe you have the cam set to 35 insted of like 50. Not really a poroblem just looks funky when your that close.
I don't think the pole lingth, will be worked out good till he has the little men on them and positioned right.

So I'd say I'm relatively new to foosball because I've only been playing for a little over a year, but I have a few questions. I started playing at work where we have a https://www.foosballsuperstore.com/t...oosball-table/ and I've gotten very good on our table, however, I do alright on others, and terrible on this one table at a bar near my apartment. We use a table made by Sportcraft, it has pretty heavy players, it has sloped sides and the balls we use are those tiny soccer balls made of heavy plastic, can someone tell me if this kind of table is a beginner table?
