well, kinda hard to judge, as it's fairly obvious that the fire is the "Create > Fire" command, so there wasn't much in the way of work there.

Other than that, a sphere and a plane aren't too difficult. For understanding how Maya works, I'm sure this was useful, but I look forward to seeing more complicated work from you. My recomendation is to focus on polygonal modeling first.

Looking forward to it. :)

hehehehe, yeah i know.
i've just spend like 4 hours with Maya.
I hope to create some good stuff in the future with this application.

i'll keep practising.

somehow i don´t believe anybody would buy a maya-unlimited if he had no experience in 3d.

don´t want to flame, just wondering.

true, one thing I'd say is where is the light on the plane generated by the fire?

That's a good start for a first project. It's a very good scene to practice basic lighting on.

Welcome to SM!

haha im not suprised hes a newb to 3d and has maya unlimited. people who arent in the business like me usually just *ahem* share it with someone else

carrot juice 06-03-2004 03:11 AM

what?! I'm not sure I understand what you mean.

train_ucl 06-03-2004 12:34 PM

hehe ... element_khaos was responding to my post ... (wondering about the unlimited version) ..

yes, nothing against sharing (as long one doesnt use it in a comercial way) and the PLE watermark gives one a headache anyway, i only said something because he was writing it in the picture ...
