exporting fur

This may sound like a really stupid question (or it might not, it depends on the answer) but...
can you add fur to a character in blender and then export it to maya?

gster123 24-06-2008 10:00 AM

Doubt it.

Why dont you use maya fur?

As far as I am aware Blenders file support to Maya is quite limited. As Steve said use Maya Fur as it works and has been around longer than Blenders.

Ive never had much success with maya's though and havent been able to find any tutorials on it

gster123 24-06-2008 07:17 PM

Have you had a read over the help files? There pretty good, just read em and have a play.

Digital tutors do a tutorial kit on it, cant vouch for it, I'm going it on my own with my lion.

Ill check both out when i get time
I havent even had chance to start up maya this week

thanks

they have some dynamic tutorials that i sorely need

elephantinc 24-06-2008 09:32 PM

the big dynamics bundle is tempting, i really enjoy following dynamics tutorials

its rather alot of money though

I may wait untill the end of the year, ill be busy with my project for a school compo untill then anyway
