Bright Lights!

1 Attachment(s)
Hi all. Question:

When rendering in with Maya Software I'm getting this bright light in the middle of the screen which isn't casting light on any of the scene objects, isn't in the Outliner and doesn't come up when rendering with Mental Ray. I'm using paint effects (grass) so that's why I'm rendering with Maya Software.

Anyone know how to get rid of it? Attached a JPEG

Thanks

You've enabled optical FX on that light, under the light effects section, right click light glow and break the connection.

Thanks for reply Genny. Still can't locate the buggar though. Turned off visibility on EVERYTHING! including all lights, DAGs and even the cameras and still got this light blinding away in Maya software rendering only. I would seriously love to lose it. I looked through the rendering options and haven't found it there so far. Where on earth could it be coming from?

Select the light, and in the attribute editor scroll down til you see "Light Effects" expand that section to find "Light Glow", right click that and select "Break Connection".

Or

Select the light, go to Window>Hypergraph:Connections and delete the optical FX and the sphereShape node.

Either way it should be gone now.

Aaaaaargh

Sorry Genny.

Think I'm going nuts here.

Even when I delete all the lights in the scene it's still there. It's definitely an glow opticalfx as you say which is why it doesn't change in size or location no matter how far away the camera is from the scene. But it seems completely unfindable. It doesn't turn up in the Hypergraph Hierarchy when, for instance, I go Show - Objects - Optical FX plus all Lights. Searching the entire scene in the Hypergraph, can't find it there Also, in the Render Diagnostics it says;

- opticalFX1 does not have a geometry connected to the glowVisibility attribute. This lightGlow can never be occluded.

So it's there. But where? Stiiiiiiill looking. Got a four o'clock today and looks like disaster is looming!
