Hi, i did a tank since a long time ago based on a real one(An old Valantine tank) were i found reference images on the net.. And now im learning mental ray... I just did some test with it (Image based lighting and 2 lights)... I know its not real.. but i found that it look really cool!!!

that looks really good. add a couple of lights so we can see more of the model. its too dark right now.

Very nicely done model, but it would be nice to see it textured out. Desperately in need of some distressing and aging. As long as you're playing with Mental Ray, how about giving it some scenery to look so pretty in?

gohan1842 10-04-2005 01:15 AM

i think it looks alright without aging. u dont have to have aging to have a good model. it could be brand new fresh from the factory for all we know.

gohan1842 10-04-2005 01:16 AM

but i do think that it could use some color variation.

DigitalManiax 10-04-2005 01:54 AM

Hey guys thanks alot for theses nice comments, its really encouraging.. I know it could look a lot more reall if i would put some texture on!! but i'm not an expert (you can confirm it by checking my "apartment" post, just a render test, but it's really far to be real hehe)... I'm learning maya and this is my best production nowaday..I've just learned Uv maping since 2 weeks... and now i'm at lighting-rendering state... Anyway, i'll maybe try some new things on it, but the textures could be really long to make (for me  ), cuz i didn't set any UV mapping on it, and theres alot of pieces out there. And yeah, i just wanted to know if u guys make the uv mapping at the same time as modeling or u make it all after that the model is complete. Anyway...., wath kind of color variation u mean?? the light or the textures colors? btw, Any suggestion are greatly welcome...

Looks very heavy. I like it. It looks like it could take a beating.
