manipulator tools gone
 

This is a very newbie question because I've only been using Maya for two weeks now. My manipulator tools dissapeared so whenever I click my object, I no longer see the rotation/move/ and the scale tool looks like the the axises are going to infinity. this is how my scale tool looks like http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2006-...298/ascale.jpg

How do I fix this? Sorry for my newbiness. Thanks

the + and - buttons resize the manipulators. Try hitting - a couple of hundred times ; P.
