mental ray stopped working. :(
 

so my mental ray has suddenly stopped working.

I get the error message:

// Error: (Mayatomr) : unexpected internal exception during scene rendering, please report //
// Info (Mayatomr): Aborted //

the weird thing is that it works fine on other projects and earlier files of the same project.

I just added paint fx hair to the scene and then converted it to polygons, so i'm not sure if that's causing the problem.

I've made sure mental ray is plugged in, deleted my prefs folder, tried deleted history, performed a clean up on my model, i tried deleting the paint fx stuff....i've even imported it into a new scene and project, but still no luck.... :(

any ideas?

ok - think i sorted it out - i ended up deleting all of the paint fx stuff, except for the strokes that I had converted to polygons - and that seemed to help.... for now. :)
