how to make a sky....??

you might try to render clouds and put them into the background as a 2D image. Darrin Krumweide did a interesting video tut on layering environments.

If you want a reall easy way round get a sky image off the internet via google, create a nurbs or poly plane move it to the back if the scene and scale it so it fills your render camera's resolution gate, then add the image to it via a new material

PS - try to get a nice hi res sky image

just look for particle or cloud. you have plenty of basic information as well as small tutorials in the docs.

You might want to change the background colour on the camera your rendering

if you got maya help files you could check out the tuts to make clouds with fluids....though you were aiming to make a sky not clouds.
