Thanks. I don't really know how I'm going to go about modelling him. I'm working on my demo reel right now and plan to start on him in a couple of days...

now we're getting somewhere... any ideas on texturing a comic style figures hair/beard? My plan was to make the basic shape for the beard and hair in the back with polys and then give it a texture. Also the rim of the hat needs a fuzzy feel...
Comments and critic on the face/expression comparison to the original sketch all greatly appreciated. :) |
nice work so far man.. keep it up! :D

hands!

I figured since the hands are a little exagerated they don't need to be so realistic so I modeled them directly on the arms by extruding and manipulating polygons. It's hard to get used to not having the plane of reference be parallell to your hand but then there's no fuss with attaching either - when it's done it's done.
I'm interested what other people do - modelling hands seperate and attaching them or modelling them on the body? Pros? Cons? |
