Duplication Problem with Subdivision
1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I deleted half the head and duplicate with instance on and this is what it look like again at the bottom. Is there anyway of fixing it? Does using the connect poly shape work (I haven't try it yet?) Would it be better and solve my duplication problem if I do use it? Any problems with using that? Please let me know soon. This head is driving me nuts. Thanks, JL |
there's an extra unwanted face on the inner side of the neck..
before you duplicate your half.. delete that inner face of the neck.. |
Is this what you mean?

Hi Roman,
I deleted the inner face if that's what you mean (Please see new picture). But it still curve at the bottom in the subdivision mode. Should I work back and forth between poly and smooth when making the head like this lightwave tutorial: http://www.highend3d.com/global/tuto...model/page4.3d Any more advice is really appreciated. Thanks, JL |

Hi,
There is no inner face... Jamie |
The bottom will do that when you turn your model into a Sub-d only having a half a head at first. This is because when your in poly mode and want to turn it into a sub-d the last few vertices on the border edge are just loose and move inward when you change it to a sub-d surface. It should smooth out once you attach both sides of the model when your in poly mode then covert it to sub-d again.
It looks like you can still delete a face that is directly under your head, will open up a whole for the neck. Hope that helps!!!!!!! Kurt |
So should I continue with modeling from that?
