roadkill uv mapper
I just used roadkill to UV map some items and I have to say it is the best UV mapper ever. I mapped 7 pieces of geometry in under 25 minutes. Who ever made this plug-in thank you.

Absolutely. I do use this on bits and pieces but I sill prefer the old fashion way as Im not restricted by the scripts way of laying the uv out. Must be my age...Again its still very good.

thanks for the note, I'll have to try roadkill out.
I think the ultimate uv mapping plugin for maya would be something you don't even use uvs kinda like what zbrush has. You just take the color of the side view image, paint it on the side geometry then take the color of the front view image and paint that in the front of the geometry and your done in seconds. I've seen videos but haven't tried it yet but it seems like a great idea. |
Yeah the GUV tiles.
I always map anywho, just in case I fancy a tweek in PS afterwards. The projection brush is I think whats its called Danotron, not used it myself as ive been attempting to hand paint just to get my skills better. Ive got a character on the go at the moment that I think I might give it a go with though. |
Yeah its the image plane plugin, It pretty cool Ive used it a couple of times.
I still think its best to do the uvs manually, as if you need to do a quick fix in PS at least you know where you are instead of thousands of tiny squares Steve, I'll mail it across... Jay |
