Smooth off edges

Hi everyone.

I'm trying to create a hilt for a sword, but after I attached the bottom, top and center, I've gotten some hard edges on the grip. Now, I can remove these manually, but it's very time consuming, and I was hoping, there might be an easier way :D

Hope you can help..

Thx a thousand times in advance.. :D

I couldent get the images to load up, maybe its my internet connection???

If youve got hard edges (like if you just create a cube, the edges of it) then you might want to have a look into the poly bevel command, its under edit polygons (or mesh depending on the version of maya your on)

If you have a look in the help files for bevel than theres lots of help for it to guide you through the settings

it's not THAT hard edges :D

imagine a surface which is jagged instead of smooth. That's what I mean by "hard edges"...

But thx for the reply.. :D

try going to, "normals>soften edge"

or in 7 and below...

edit polygons>normals>soften/harden... and drag the slider to 100
