Noob problem with extrude
 

I was following a tutorial, and everything was going fine, until the extrude tool randomly started going all wonky on me. Whenever I select the extrude tool, the selected face turns into circles. Also, it warps the surrounding unselected faces. Soft selection is off, so I'm not sure what the problem is. It happens to every face I try to extrude on this model.

Are you in smoothed mode, 3 on the keyboard. If you are, press 1 to go back to your base mesh

You're viewing the model in smooth preview mode so this is normal. Hit 1 on the keyboard and you'll see the actual model without smoothness.
