Showing off your work?

Once we finish making something, what's the best way to display it? Especially for viewers who might not have access to the maya software.

Do you make an animated fly-around and save it as a video? Are a series of screen-captures the simplest method?

Are there an instructions on best practices?

TIA

Usually rendering a few scenes is enough to display your work. There's no need in a video unless you're animating something. Also posting Maya files is hardly necessary/advisable.

There is a vest amount of info under Help>Maya Help, though it's not always that useful/clear.

Agreed. Some renders and or wireframe shots will do fine, some people do turntable animations or fly throughs, its up to you.

Thanks for responding. I have been experimenting with the various settings.

Has anyone ever attempted to use Quicktime VR? It would be nice if a viewer, with QT installed, could rotate 3D models in order to view them from any angle.

Now this is the way to go... for me anyway.

Using a website to display one's work in this manner is almost ideal. At least using a series of images allows the viewer to experience all aspects of the modeling.
