Maya / 3DsMax Company Merge

Just wondering what the future for Maya will be now that it has merged with 3DsMax company and is "Autodesk" rather than Alias.
Will 3DsMax be phased out and Maya be the standard or will Maya be phased out? Just that I am so very close to make a move towards 3DsMax because of the fact that Maya does not have the "Chamfer" abilities of 3DsMax. (Bevel edges just doesn't cut the mustard) But if I swapped to 3dMax would it be phased out and then I'd have to relearn Maya.
The easiest soultion would be for Maya to get a decent Chamfer function and that would make life much simpler for me and countless others who have written their annoyance with this fact.
HELP!!...Very frustrated.

I cannot see either bit of software being phased out. The majority of movie work is done in Maya and the same goes for Max and games. Both apps have a future and Autodesk would only shoot themselves in the foot by stopping the development and production of this great software.

I am a Maya Fan thru and thru, having used XSI and Max I will always come back to Maya time and time again. Its inbuilt dynamics is one of the best on the market (for an app standard).

Check out this article on the merger/takeover.

It contains all the info on the merger. Although I was not happy about it at first, I feel Autodesk will only advance the integration between these two software packages making studios in both the Film/TV and Games Industries happier. No more Max only Games Projects :)
