"modelling" in the pull down menu isn't there?
 

hey guys

im going to be doing a model of a face off of front and side image planes.
i need to go to the drop down menu to choose "modeling" so that at the top i can acces the create polygon tool.

for some reason modeling isn't there! it used to be...i thought it might have had something to do with my project and it's settings by i started a new scene and it still isn't there...does if have something to do with my general UI settings in maya? i dont think i changed them.

in the drop down menu on the top left it gives me the option to choose:
-animation
-polygons
-surfaces
-dynamics
-rendering
-nCloth
-customise


im assuming in order to get access to the create polygon tool i need to choose modeling? even if i dont need to click on the modeling to get it i would still like to have it back haha what am i doing wrong??

Try under the 'Polygon' Menu Set!

Under: Edit Polygons>> Create polygon tool.

I think! I'm using Maya 2008. It sounds like your using an older version of Maya.

oh awesome i found it! under mesh in the polygon drop menu.

i have maya 8.5 unlimited...i was looking at a tutorial of a 4.5 version where there was a modeling drop down menu and i thought that my version had that as well but maybe not? Does yours have it?

Since version 8.0 the modelling tab as been split into 'polygons' and 'surfaces'.
