I like this one, found on a site:
"A while ago we did a story on Alan Ralsky, an email spammer that's made millions by flooding your inbox with unsolicited ads for everything from herbal Viagra to weight loss schemes. Now, it appears that Ralsky is getting a dose of his own medicine, and he doesn't like it: Ever since I wrote a story on him a couple of weeks ago (www.freep.com/money/tech/mwend22_20021122.htm), he says he's been inundated with ads, catalogs and brochures delivered by the U.S. Postal Service to his brand-new $740,000 home. It's all the result of a well-organized campaign by the anti-spam community, and Ralsky doesn't find it funny. "They've signed me up for every advertising campaign and mailing list there is," he told me. "These people are out of their minds. They're harassing me." Ralsky is actually planning on suing those responsible for the junk mail campaign, but somehow I don't think he'll have much luck with a judge." |
I hate to admit it, but I kinda feel exactly like this guy:
http://www.beetlegeiss.com/rants.asp?rantsnatch=530 I also had a lady sales person phone me today thanking me for supporting sick children and to confirm the address where she could send the bill... I told her to listen very carefully as I had a sore throat and couldnt speak loud.... then screamed very loud :)))))) I think she liked it |
hmmm IM on a roll....
found at http://theaerozone.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=1240 SAN FRANCISCO -- Call it spam rage: A Silicon Valley computer programmer has been arrested for threatening to torture and kill employees of the company he blames for bombarding his computer with Web ads promising to enlarge his penis. In one of the first prosecutions of its kind in the state that made "road rage" famous, Charles Booher, 44, was arrested Thursday and released on $75,000 bond for making repeated threats to staff of a Canadian company between May and July. Booher threatened to send a "package full of Anthrax spores" to the company, to "disable" an employee with a bullet and torture him with a power drill and ice pick; and to hunt down and castrate the employees unless they removed him from their e-mail list, prosecutors said. He used return e-mail addresses including Satan+hell.org. In a telephone interview with Reuters on Friday, Booher acknowledged that he had behaved badly but said his computer had been rendered almost unusable for about two months by a barrage of pop-up advertising and e-mail. "Here's what happened: I go to their Web site and start complaining to them, would you please, please, please stop bothering me," he said. "It just sort of escalated ... and I sort of lost my cool at that point." The Sunnyvale, California man now faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for next month on charges of threatening to injure someone. He said he did not own any guns or have access to anthrax. Booher said the problem stemmed from a program he mistakenly downloaded from the Internet that brought a continuous stream of advertising to his computer. The object of the Californian's anger was Douglas Mackay, president of DM Contact Management, which works for Albion Medical, a firm advertising the "Only Reliable, Medically Approved Penis Enhancement." "This went for a long, long time. He seemed really dedicated to this," Mackay said from Victoria, British Columbia in Canada. "He seemed like a guy just crazy enough with nothing to lose that might actually do something." He said his firm does not send spam but blamed a rival firm which he said routes much of their unsolicited bulk e-mail through Russia and eastern Europe. Mackay said such firms gave a bad name to the penis enhancement business. In other cases, Internet vigilantes have bombarded spammers with both unsolicited e-mail and regular mail and phone calls, launched attacks on spammers' computers and posted spammers' personal information on the Internet, according to reports. Separately, lawmakers in Washington said the U.S. House of Representatives was poised to vote for on a measure to outlaw most Internet spam. Lawmakers hope to pass a national anti-spam bill before a much tougher California state law goes into effect on Jan. 1. ---------------------------------------- |
i cannot help but wonder why there are virus to make dns attacks on "respected;)" companys and there arent none (to my knowledge) to keep spammers out of internet...
(yes there says there are, but then there isnt any that is much effective...) |
I received some 'returned' mails with a similiar structure, some short message that says that the rest of the message has been attached in a text file.
If you examine the said so-called textfile, it becomes obvious that it is really an exe file (name.txt.exe). The virus that's onboard is called W32.NovargA@mm (according to Norton) One of the mails came from some 'izzy@racecgi.com'... |
Yes, I had an e-mail with an attachment as well that appeared to be a notepad file, yet appeared also to have an .htm extension, YET was actually an exe file. It was only 20KB, so it was more than likely some small virus or trojan. I still have the application on my computer, but have never executed it. It was called "eqkjw"
|
What? You didn't execute the file? :eek2:
Are you not curious? ;) I received five of these mails during the last three days. And I bet there's more to come... P.S. The last one came about three minutes ago from 'ventas@items.com.gt' |
