joint tool need help

i am creating a cartoon arm i am up to setting up joints when i select skeleton> joint tool and click on object the tool to connect joints is big how do i control the size so i can do it for every finger. right now its so big its taking up the whole arm. i have a file attached to show...

the file probably wouldn't show the size of the joints as you see them.

To change joint size, go to Display > Joint Size.
