Sharper Image

A quick question.

A jpg UV mapped to an object. When rendered isn't that sharp. In the program I use you attach a Render Tag and switch off Filter Textures and it renders sharp. Does anyone know the method in Maya? Or does Maya just do this automatically?

Thanks in advance, I'm watching as many tutorials as I can.:)

Cheers

In the "Effects" section of the file node's attribute editor, there is a "Filter" option that you can decrease to sharpen things up a bit, 0.2 works well for me. Oh and croll back to the top and there is also a filter type dropdown menu.

Thanks Genny but this doesn't seem to make any difference. Am I doing something wrong?

In your version of Maya, do you have the option of turning the filter off?
