Newbie query

I am about to build a house which I got the tutorial for. Now what I am asking is does anyone know where can I get binaries like sofa, telly, table, chairs, etc (furniture) to put in the house.

And how do I go about importing those binaries into my main scene?

Could anyone be kind to help!!! Please

Thank you.

Check SM's uploads section. You can also check sites like 3D Cafe and turbosquid. It's easier to find OBJs than it is to find .ma, .mb, and OBJ files can be import into Maya if you activate the plugin.

Of course, you COULD also make them yourself... :)

OK thanks...

Yep I know I can make it myself but I just don't have much time.

But I do appreciate it.

Hi sorry but you meantioned "OBJ files can be import into Maya if you activate the plugin."

How do I do that, what is this plugin? Sorry for the crude question but I am very new to Maya.

I do appreciate your answer.

I think that you only need the plugin loaded if you wish to export files as .obj, but to load it anyway go to:

window -> settings/preferences -> plug-in manager

then scroll down to where you can see objExport.so , and click on loaded.

Making them yourself might expand your skills more...it opens more doors for creativity.

Thanks Guys I am following the advice, I am making some of them myself.

It is bloody hard but I will get there.

Cheers
