Gurgle gurgle eeeek!!!
Well as people may or may not be aware I am something of a manic overclocker. As such I have my main rig watercooled. This essentially is a pump, 3 waterblock (cpu, gpu and mobo) and a radiator.
Being slightly different, ie mad, I decided to use a ford escort radiator. Not being overly fussed about looks I just removed one of the case side panels and bungie corded the sucker on. Now to have a good watercooling setup you need to remove the air, so if you return to you computer and hear a gurgling noise this is bad. Very bad. Air in means water out. Yes thats right the bottom of my case was now a nice swimming pool. Thankfully I powered off before the radiator connector permantly went twang and water went every were. So in closing if you want to watercool your computer make sure all your connections are VERY VERY SECURE!!! And now if you'll excuse me I think i'll go change my underwear...... |
OMG you must be mad!!! Have you got a pic?
|
Well yes just a little bit, i'll take some pics tomorrow and post them.
|
hehehehehhehehe... so thats the reason i didnt let a pal entertain itself with my new rig (to post pics on its web)...
for almost a second he almost convinced me to make soething like this http://www.metamods.net/Ver.php?pagi...h_MCP600_4.php cool, but forget the warranty:) one word: silicon uhh and another: hole on the bottom and legs :) plus you forgot the memorys! cmon i have never seen a watercooling solution for memos and that is a major bottleneck for u extreme overclockers... |
Very nice clean looking rig, personaly I wouldn't use the 2 y-splits as they reduce water flow rate. Now where did I put that liquid nitrogen.......

:Dmy pal and an industial engineer specialliced on thermodinamics discussing on peltier cells and why liqid nitrogen is not as good idea as it sounded the frist time... :Duse this gases instead "R-134A, R-404A" :D :)btw his pc box "sweats" because of the difference of temperature with the room:) |

Sry m8 forgot about this thread.
the inside of m comp just after the radiator broke off. You can see the broken barb bottom right of picture. |

well this is my temporary solution:)... but as i will have air conditioning installed next week it wont be needed anymore...
the machine is still too new to need extreme oc (it has "moderate" one: the Ati9800SE mutated to Pro and then oced to aprox XT the memorys moved from 3-3-3-5 400 (ddr)to 2.5-3-3-5 (440ddr) and the processor upped from 2100Mhz to 2300Mhz=>AMD64 3200+ to AMD64 3600+) rock solid without extra cooling when the ambient temperature is below 34ÂșC so i told the pals that made the red and yellow water systems that it wont be needed them to play with my rig until next yr(they were indeed eager to play with it they say it has opportunitys, and from people that can overclock an Athlon from 1700+ to 3200+ i will believe it):) the only prob is that the DVD burner still spits a shard of the XP cd from time to time...(it still works most of the time tough... but when my fingers touch bits of it i think about Smuel L Jackson cleaning the car in Pulp Fiction...) |
Nice rig m8. I'm planning to make the move from watercooling to chilled water. Not as effective as direct die but a great deal easier to make. Should be able to get about -20 with the first model...... I hope :D.
