Splash Damage - Art Test
Hi everybody.
Going for a new job at Splash Damage and I have to do a art test for it. Basically I have to build this http://www.splashdamage.com/images/c..._concept02.jpg With 20,000 Tri`s fully textured and add my own personal touch to it. - Now here`s the thing. 20,000 tri`s - I have built the whole thing in just over 4,000 which is really making me wonder is low poly really low poly any more ??? - I mean I have even started being my own bits on to the scene and think there is quite abit of detail on there. Maybe its just me. I think "low poly" is now a relative term. Looking good so far.

Ok no problem - not much to look at though - hehe - its now just under 5000 - see lower image for actual number

I found some as well for the last challenge but I remember having trouble with the size... I needed it torn up anyway so I couldn't use a tileable texture... Thanks anyway... Benny |

But yeah, what kind of limit is 20,000? What could you do with all of those? meh, I like good ol' fashioned N64 polycounts, you know? |

do you have to bake the lights and do that coloured verts mumbo jumbo? i'm lost when it comes to games speak.
It looks pretty cool so far, with 20k tris this will look great when its done! :) |

The water texture is a load of crap, haha. Its a picture of sand I added to a dark green phong.
