Moving character with fur?
I might be missing something but this is giving me a headache. I have some fur attached to geometry. I need to animate the geometry but the fur doesn't like it. In particular rotating my geometry drives the fur crazy. Is there something i'm missing?
|
Sigh, i just wasted an hour trying to resolve this, it was history on my geometry. I was positive i deleted it but there you go!

I was wrong, i thought there was no issues. I moved my model into place and the fur is messed up in the render. What the issue is, i need to scale the geometry and of course the hair doesn't scale with it.
Edit: Fixed, i just scaled the scene. This fur is on a leg, i want to duplicate the leg and add the same fur description. Problem is i can't move the new leg as the fur is tied to the transformation of the original leg. Is there any options other than creating the fur from scratch? |
No not really. The quickest way would be to create a new fur description on the new leg, and just copy and paste the settings/values etc from the other leg.
or What you could try is keeping a record of the values on the original legs fur description, then delete it and create ONE new description for both legs, it should work as long as the uvs arent over lapped in the texture editor Jay |
Or save the fur description as a preset, then as Jay said make a new fur description and then replace it with the saved preset.

Thanks for the help guys. I guess it's not that big an issue to create new fur, might be the better idea anyway so i can add in a slight variance.
Still it's always good to know for sure. Thanks again. |
