Realflow test

Here my second attempt in Realflow. Rendered in Mental Ray. Fluid is an Fast SSS Material. Includes motion blur, glossy reflecions on the floor, HDRI lighting, Final Gather.

Watch it on youtube

whats the material supposed to be i seems almost like the thickness of paint. But all in all i like the end result i really gota get my hands on this program

DJbLAZER 17-03-2008 03:38 AM

Not supposed to be anything , was just playing around. I think it seems like a mix of milk and wax.

for some reason i always liked seeing realflow simulations but whats that big white spot in the glass at about 00:11 and theres that pulsing the liquid does. i like the test with the wall better, though some residue wouldve been nice too.

DJbLAZER 18-03-2008 03:00 AM

You'll have to ask Next limit (the creator of Realflow) what that hole is doing there.... but I guess it's a pocket of air. I'm aware of the "pulsating" at the end but since this is just me trying a program for the first time I didn't bother with it.

Here's a new one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amXqLXv5ZLc

featuring my "Man in Suit" lowpoly model.

Rhetoric Camel 26-03-2008 01:29 PM

hehe it's looks pretty cool, the one with the man in the suit kind of reminds me of the old Nickelodeon tv show "Double Dare" when they'd dump the infamous green slime on people. Keep up the good work

oh yeah, and I would try to make the fluid bounce off of him less, but I know it's just a test, and realflow isn't as easy as it seems.

ha ha - nice job dj - the man in a suit one is very funny.

the liquid sort of reminds me of lava or a liquid in a test tube when it boils over - especially in the first one. any plans for this or are you just messing around?

DJbLAZER 07-04-2008 06:29 PM

Hehe.. thanks dude. Was just trying out Realflow. Very intuitive and easy program compared to Maya Fluids for sure.

The thing is that it's not fun to do a really realistic long animation with one or two computers...

but I think I'll try out some nice stills with Maxwell.

DJ,

I am a huge fan of Realflow, but dont you find it a memory chewer ;).

Gr8 app, so easy to use and gives fantastic results

DJbLAZER 08-04-2008 09:32 AM

Haven't noticed it being heavy on the memory, but I have 4 GB.

TimMetalJones 11-04-2008 07:16 PM

Thats sweet. I really like test 2. I've always wanted to do a project with dynamic fluids.

cool tests, thou i think you should play around and get something real out of it.

At the moment it looks to fluid for the collar and texture it has, or it has the effect of paint, while i assume its water,

would be nice to see you get something realistic out of it.

Keep up the good work.
